The raw material is a 100% silk V-neck vest made by Talbots in a beautiful tan purchased at the Salvation Army Family Thrift store in Gresham, Oregon for half of the tags price

The construction of the piece had it challenges for unraveling, the outside armhole has an interesting detailing stitch.  The tools that I use made the job manageable.

There was very little waste, with the worse part being the elastic tread in the bottom ribbing.  I was able to get two nice cakes for the front and back.

There is a lot of crimp in this yarn
